Bank One School Matinee Series

The Bank One School Matinee Series enlivens learning through the arts and is designed for students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. The quality of the production and the connection to Indiana Academic Standards are primary considerations in selecting each show. These performances are produced by professional companies with a mission of performing for and educating young audiences or by the Jordan College of Fine Arts.

All students attending Bank One School Matinees will receive Clowes Sheets, student study guides, student study guides, mailed to schools 3-4 weeks before the performance. This material is written to enhance the learning experience by engaging students in the content of the performance both prior to and after attending the event.

Selected performances, as noted after each matinee description, are interpreted in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or are Audio Described (AD).

Professional Development Workshops
Earn Graduate Credit Through Butler University*
Bring your teaching friends and meet new colleagues in our participatory Professional Development Workshops for Educators. Whether you are looking for motivational activities for your students or new approaches to teaching the core curriculum, you’ll find it here.

All of our workshop leaders have extensive experience conducting interactive, practical workshops for teachers and are professional artist educators affiliated with the Kennedy Center and other national teacher training programs.

*Graduate Credit: All of the Clowes 2004-2005 workshops are available for 1 hour of graduate credit through Butler University's College of Education at a reduced fee. As a class, the workshop will require additional time to apply and evaluate workshop content in the classroom. Paperwork to apply for credit must be completed prior to the day of the workshop. Please call Carolyn Owens at (317) 940-9942 for information.

All 2004-05 Teacher Workshops have been approved for IPS Continuing Education Credit.

Distance Learning

Discover The Performing Arts From Your Classroom
Made possible by the “magic” of fiber optics, Distance Learning (DL) utilizes teleconferencing technology to connect students in the classroom to artists and educators at Clowes Memorial Hall. Our mission is to help you, the educator, meet Indiana Academic Standards and curriculum goals through interactive sessions linking the arts with other subject areas. Take a look at some of the opportunities we can provide for your students and explore the performing arts in a way that energizes and enhances your curriculum!
