Béla Fleck, often considered the premier banjo player in the world, returns to Clowes with a unique exploration of the African origins of the banjo, an instrument brought to American shores by African slaves. Coinciding with his award-winning documentary "Throw Down Your Heart," this performance is a rare and special concert that features an extraordinary ensemble of the African musicians with whom he collaborated and the music they created during his travels to discover the roots of his instrument.
