SPONSORSHIPS

Clowes Memorial Hall of Butler University has been Indianapolis’ premiere performing arts facility for over forty years. Our mission is life-long learning in and through the arts. Supporting Clowes with an individual or corporate sponsorship not only allows us to continue our arts programming, but our audiences gain awareness of you and your organization and your commitment to the arts in Indianapolis.

Programming you can be involved in:

CLOWES PRESENTS – Clowes presents six to eight performances each year compiled of music, dance and international presentations. This eclectic mix of programming allows us to reach out to all audience types as well as present a critically acclaimed season of world-class shows. We support our performances with pre-performances talks, “meet the artist” clinics and master classes.

Our Audience:
The Clowes audience is as diverse as our programming.

Our goals for CLOWES PRESENTS are:
Reach new audiences to cultivate an appreciation of the arts

Sustain our subscribers and regular patrons

Target programming for specific groups and communities

Sponsorship Levels

Season Sponsor
A season sponsor is recognized in all season and single-show advertising as well as other publicity materials. This partnership also enjoys several perks such as season tickets, employee discounts, and program advertising.

Single Show Sponsor
Single show sponsorship includes an organization’s name in all of the show’s marketing and PR. Since the shows are individually marketed, a sponsor can pick and choose the events they would like to be involved in. Another great way to include employees and clients in your support with tickets and discounts to the show.

CLOWES HALL EDUCATION PROGRAMS – This is the largest comprehensive arts education program in the State of Indiana. The program consists of student matinees, teacher workshops, dress rehearsals and distance learning sessions. The program anchor is the matinee series that attracts over 50,000 school children from Central Indiana. We present over twenty-five student matinees (nearly sixty performances) each year. Our programming is curriculum-based for K-12 audiences. All students are provided with work sheets or “Clowes Sheets” for each performance. We want to make sure our students are prepared for their theatrical experience and have discussion points once they go back to their classrooms.

Sponsorship Levels

Title Sponsorship of the Clowes Matinee Series - $50,000
The title sponsor of the student matinee series not only receives title billing recognition in all printed and marketing materials related to the series, but sends a clear message of support and commitment for arts education for over 60,000 school children throughout Indiana. This also includes on-site visibility day of performances, tickets to the mainstage events and advertising in the Clowes program books.

Sponsor of the Clowes Matinee Series - $10,000
This includes name recognition in all matinee series marketing and materials as well as matinee tickets for your organization to give to the school of your choice.

Education Supporter - $5,000
By being an education supporter, you not only receive name recognition in some of the materials we produce for students, your money is specifically used to underwrite admission for students who normally cannot afford to attend our events. Involvement in the matinee series scholarship fund assures we are reaching the broadest base of students and that they will experience live performance.

No matter the level of giving, all donations assure the finest in programming of performing arts for adults as well as K-12 students.

There are benefits to corporate and individual donors, but the gratification of supporting our programming and our mission of life-long learning in and through the arts is the greatest benefit of all.

Individual Levels are:

Benefactor ($1,000+)
Patron ($500-$999)
Angel ($250-$499)
Associate ($100-$249)
Friend ($50-$99)
Contributor (to $49)

Where will your gift to Clowes go? You decide what area of Clowes your gift will support. You may designate your gift to an area of special interest such as:

• Clowes Presents
Your gift supports the program fund which helps reduce expenses and allows Clowes to keep the ticket prices at a reasonable level. If you are a fan of jazz or dance, you can even allocate your gift to help underwrite the program of your choice.

• Clowes K-12 Education Programs
Gifts underwrite classroom scholarships for students to attend a curriculum-based matinee performance. Clowes receives thousands of requests each year for scholarships and only a small percentage of requests can actually be fulfilled.

• Clowes General Operating Fund
Clowes Memorial Hall is the home of several Indianapolis performing arts
organizations. Gifts to this fund allow Clowes to maintain a state-of-the-art technical facility for these organizations. It also allows Clowes to underwrite rental expenses to Indianapolis performing arts organizations so that they can concentrate on perfecting their artisticproduct for all to enjoy.

ALLEN WHITEHILL CLOWES FUND
On November 1, 2000, Indianapolis lost one of its greatest community philanthropists, Allen Whitehill Clowes. Mr. Clowes’ community involvement ranged from boards of directors and trustees to state and university awards and honors. He, along with his mother, Edith Clowes, and brother, Dr. George Clowes Jr., were principal donors to Clowes Memorial Hall in which the hall was named in memory of his father, George H.A. Clowes, Sr. Mr. Clowes served on the Board of Trustees for Butler University from 1960 to 1984 and remained a Trustee Emeriti until his death.

With the passing of Mr. Clowes, he established yet another source of programming. The Allen Whitehill Clowes Fund was established “to assist in financing the public entertainment program carried on at Clowes Memorial Hall.” This endowment will allow Clowes to continue to program and commission the highest quality cultural attractions throughout each season.

If you have an interest in contributing to the Allen Whitehill Clowes Fund please contact Elise J. Kushigian at (317) 940-9697.
